Residents at Wilton Meadows celebrated Cinco de Mayo this week with a long-table fiesta — papel picado overhead, balloons in every direction, and Mexican beach scenes playing on the TVs in the background.
The activities team went all in on the decor. Cactus, avocado, taco, and sombrero headbands made the rounds for anyone who wanted to put one on, and the centerpieces ran the length of the table with llama and cactus cutouts mixed in with sunflowers. One of our staff set up a fresh guacamole station and made it by hand right in front of the group, with a view of Puerto Morelos on the screen behind her for full effect.
Drinks went around in bright red, orange, blue and pink cups. A few toasts were raised. Plenty of smiles all the way down the table.
Days like this are some of our favorites — residents and staff together, dressed up, sharing a meal, and making the kind of afternoon people talk about for the rest of the week.
Big thanks to Andrew for sending the photos along, and to the activities team for pulling it all together.
¡Salud!
